HUSBAND in High Demand!!

Rich, was just called to be our wards Young Mens President on top of his coaching responsibilities I feel like I might not ever see my husband again!! He loves working with the youth and feels edified when he works with the youth. I went and watched a practice last week and it was awsome to see him with outstretched arms on the shoulders of a huge football player. Later, he told me he was telling the boy he expected more from him and he wasn't reaching his potential. Rich has a magical touch when it comes to reaching out to adolescent boys.
I have been working 20-30 hours at Moonridge Academy doing therapy with adolescent girls. I love my job! The staff are very personable and it really feels like my second home.
Last Week, was a long week! By the end of the week I could hardly keep back the tears from being away from my baby for so long. I think he felt the same way as he reached for me when I picked him up on friday.
Abel has changed our lives, he is the best thing that has happened to me, I love to see him grow and learn new things. We have been forcing him in crawl position because he is content just chilling in one place. I think he might have Rich's personality, he certainly looks more like Rich every day. However, he gets bored easy and I think crawling would help with that.
This last weekend, Rich was stretched thin as he helped my family build a brick wind wall until Saturday afternoon, then, came home and helped me clean carpets for a few hours. We are feeling the fall coming and the urgency to get all our cleaning-repairing projects done before its too cold.
This morning was beautiful and crisp as I took Abel on a run in the running stroller and of course Abby ran along side us. My neighbor Tiffany was in our clan as well, I am thinking this is going to be a family affair a couple times a week. I have been struggling maintaining my workout regime since I started working at Moonridge.

Emery County Progress - Cassie Ewell - June 8, 2010

Emery County Progress - Cassie Ewell - June 8, 2010: "HUNTINGTON-Cassie Lee Cox Ewell, 31, passed away at her home in Huntington, June 5, 2010. Cassie was born July 15, 1978 in Provo, Utah to Dennis and Angie Cox. Cassie married Rodney Mart Ewell on Nov. 23,. 1996 in Castle Dale, Utah and later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. She was superwoman, wife, mom, friend, sister, aunt. All who came in contact with her were touched by her service, love and sincerity. Cassie was determined to run life's race, she never gave up. She was determined to run strong and she sprinted to the end. Medical issues were only an obstacle to be hurdled.
Cassie Lee married Rodney Ewell shortly after high school, they were sweethearts in so many ways. They could country swing faster than the watcher could follow. Her bubbly personality melted life's cares away.
No one could ever question she had her priorities eternally focused. Her family was first. She would be in excruciating pain and attend her sweet girls' pageants, sports and church events.
She was an amazing hostess to family members and friends. She was always trying to get family together. She served with all her heart and might as PTA President, in Relief Society, in the Castle Valley Pageant and other activities.
She was a great mom and she loved to doll the girls up with fun costumes at Halloween and fix the girls' hair fancy for events. She wanted to be a part of every second of her babies' lives. She was born to be a mom.
She returned to her Heavenly Father June 5, 2010 after a big family get together and went to her peaceful slumber where she could rest from mortality's burdens. She wouldn't have had it any other way-serving family and finally a restful nap. Until we meet again dear Cassie."

Abels Baby Blessing

Holy Moly! Its been a long time since I have updated my blog.

Okay,
So uhm since the last post we had a baby and named him Abel Wayne Harline. He is now 4 months old. Last night was a long night for poor Abel he was pretty backed up. Abel had a series of blow outs on me, Rich, the carpet, the rug, towels, clothes and up our arms. Oh course we took pictures on the phone camera during this crisis. We figured we would laugh about it later.

I quit working at Diamond Ranch Academy as a therapist in December about a week before I had Abel. Abel was 3 weeks early. My water broke in the middle of the night when I went to the bathroom for the cazillionth time and took a leap over my dog to the bed. The water breakage was so small and slow I wasnt comletely convinced it was my water. So at 2 am I said outloud, "Uhm" then again a couple minutes later as I felt more leakage. Finally, Rich said, "What!" I said, "I think my water broke," we read part of the book What to Expect When Your Expecting for about an hour. Then, Rich quickly went back to sleep while my mind was racing the rest of the night.
In the morning I told Rich to go to work; while I went to the hospital to find out if my suspicions were correct. I called my dad to go with me so Rich wouldnt take precious time off so he could be with me during the most crucial part of labor.
So 24 hours later and dialated to a ONE! Ready to die, and scream I convinced my Dr. to give me a C-section.
The relaxing breathing was long past relaxing, I was sick and tired of being in labor and everytime I felt a pang I clenched up and complained madly. The spinal relief came about the time I was ready to get my baby out myself and relieve myself from this nightmare.
Abel was 5 lbs and 8 oz and he lost 6 oz in a week. Baby Abel was born to suck, however not on me. I realized by breast pumping I was nearly starving my little one and quickly went to the bottle.
He began to gain weight slowly due to his inability to keep food down. His sphinkter muscle was not fully developed which made him spit-up all he consumed. The Pediatrician recommended putting rice in his formula so it would be thicker and would be more difficult to spit-up.
The last appointment we went to, the Dr. said Abel was finally on the growth chart, so no longer a preemie he is about 12 lbs and 23 in long.

This is kinda old news, but this is one of the pictures of the baby taken exactly a month ago.

Pregnancy- 4 months down and 5 to go

BABY update: So, we are officially 4 months pregnant and because I am a high risk pregnancy I get to know how the baby is about every 2 weeks. So today we are going in for my 16 week checkup. Hopefully we get to find out if its a boy or a girl! The Dr. thought he saw a little sumin sumin between the babies legs, but said it was too soon to tell. Rich and I have a hunch its a girl, but either way we are excited.

This week I am finally looking like I am pregant instead of chubby around the middle and its really exciting, definatley seems more real.

Traveling Update: Rich and I just got back from Indiana two weeks ago from his Clark Family Reunion. It was really fun to see everyone at once in the family. Rich was in charge of annnouncing talents for the talent show and thought it would be funny to add a few terrible wife jokes.... and then the fight started. Heres a sample of the lame jokes- My wife asked for something that went from zero to 360 in 60 seconds for her birthday, so I got her a scale. And then the fight started, hello husband, I do not weigh 360 lbs!!

On our way to Indiana, I scheduled an extra-long delay in Denver so I could see my brother Bevan and his wife Charla and little Gavin. We roamed around downtown Denver looking for an Ice cream shop and finally caved for this weird health yogurt shop because of the lack of time. It ended up being delicious!!! Tangy, Tart, Fresh Rasberries, Blueberries, Strawberries, soooo yum.

Job: Rich is moving up in the world starting in January. He will be the Operations Manager/ Program Manager for an Addiction recovery family called Recovery Plus it is being built and will be finished in January. The building is located north of the new Murry hospital. We have driven by it a couple times and watched the foundation being dug and laid. We are really excited for this opportunity.

My job on the other hand has been a huge blessing to us. Despite the two hour commute each day which ends up being 50 hrs a week added to my already 40 hour week I really like it. I really enjoy running the Narcotics Anonymous groups. I have revamped the groups so they really focus on finding a higher power which I strongly believe recovery can' t happen without. I attended an official NA in St. George last week so I could model my NA more closely to the what a real NA would be like in the real world and it was amazing. I loved it, everyone was so friendly, they make you feel right at home and they celebrate every little step of recovery. I think we need to do the same, recognize those little sucesses, clap for ourselves! I think so many times we feel obligated to progress in life, when really we don't. We could just sit on our butts and eat bon-bons. So if we do that home project, cook a nice meal, forfeit that extra cookie, say hello to the neighbor, take our dog for a walk, write in our journal------------------CELEBRATE! We deserve it and we should recognize others sucesses as well! We are overly critical and judgemental and we miss out on life because of it.

The other day after an NA this girl came up after NA and said she found her Higher Power last night and she was sooo excited. She said she was never one to believe in that kind of stuff, but she has been praying and something is there. She was just beaming, and a couple days after she was still talking about it. I love little sucesses in my job, sometimes I wonder if I am really helping anyone and this was one of those Yahoooo moments.

Rich: This man is the most amazing person ever, he is so helpful, so kind, and so grounded. Just what my yellow personality needs- a white personality to keep my roller coaster life on a milder roller coaster. He takes the dog for a walks, coaches football, goes to work, does his church callings, and has meetings for his new job. I am officially in love with him!!

Speaking of my dog! She is grounded outside during the night because she has eaten 20 pairs of my underware, 10 pairs of my flip-flops and yesterday as I was pulling out of the parking lot racing to work. I reached down because my crotch felt a little too breezy and wahlah a huge hole eaten out of my crotch! I wanted to beat my dog Abby to death but she wouldn't realize why which is frusterating. My favorite comfortable capri's! URghhh! So she is no longer sleeping in our bedroom, cuz I think she is eating my stuff when she gets up in the night. Last night was her first night outside, she growled at us this morning when she came in and was hyper as all get out. I am not sure how to get her to stop eating all my clothes, she does not really eat Richs stuff other than his shoe laces and hat. SOS
