HUSBAND in High Demand!!

Rich, was just called to be our wards Young Mens President on top of his coaching responsibilities I feel like I might not ever see my husband again!! He loves working with the youth and feels edified when he works with the youth. I went and watched a practice last week and it was awsome to see him with outstretched arms on the shoulders of a huge football player. Later, he told me he was telling the boy he expected more from him and he wasn't reaching his potential. Rich has a magical touch when it comes to reaching out to adolescent boys.
I have been working 20-30 hours at Moonridge Academy doing therapy with adolescent girls. I love my job! The staff are very personable and it really feels like my second home.
Last Week, was a long week! By the end of the week I could hardly keep back the tears from being away from my baby for so long. I think he felt the same way as he reached for me when I picked him up on friday.
Abel has changed our lives, he is the best thing that has happened to me, I love to see him grow and learn new things. We have been forcing him in crawl position because he is content just chilling in one place. I think he might have Rich's personality, he certainly looks more like Rich every day. However, he gets bored easy and I think crawling would help with that.
This last weekend, Rich was stretched thin as he helped my family build a brick wind wall until Saturday afternoon, then, came home and helped me clean carpets for a few hours. We are feeling the fall coming and the urgency to get all our cleaning-repairing projects done before its too cold.
This morning was beautiful and crisp as I took Abel on a run in the running stroller and of course Abby ran along side us. My neighbor Tiffany was in our clan as well, I am thinking this is going to be a family affair a couple times a week. I have been struggling maintaining my workout regime since I started working at Moonridge.

Emery County Progress - Cassie Ewell - June 8, 2010

Emery County Progress - Cassie Ewell - June 8, 2010: "HUNTINGTON-Cassie Lee Cox Ewell, 31, passed away at her home in Huntington, June 5, 2010. Cassie was born July 15, 1978 in Provo, Utah to Dennis and Angie Cox. Cassie married Rodney Mart Ewell on Nov. 23,. 1996 in Castle Dale, Utah and later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. She was superwoman, wife, mom, friend, sister, aunt. All who came in contact with her were touched by her service, love and sincerity. Cassie was determined to run life's race, she never gave up. She was determined to run strong and she sprinted to the end. Medical issues were only an obstacle to be hurdled.
Cassie Lee married Rodney Ewell shortly after high school, they were sweethearts in so many ways. They could country swing faster than the watcher could follow. Her bubbly personality melted life's cares away.
No one could ever question she had her priorities eternally focused. Her family was first. She would be in excruciating pain and attend her sweet girls' pageants, sports and church events.
She was an amazing hostess to family members and friends. She was always trying to get family together. She served with all her heart and might as PTA President, in Relief Society, in the Castle Valley Pageant and other activities.
She was a great mom and she loved to doll the girls up with fun costumes at Halloween and fix the girls' hair fancy for events. She wanted to be a part of every second of her babies' lives. She was born to be a mom.
She returned to her Heavenly Father June 5, 2010 after a big family get together and went to her peaceful slumber where she could rest from mortality's burdens. She wouldn't have had it any other way-serving family and finally a restful nap. Until we meet again dear Cassie."

Abels Baby Blessing

Holy Moly! Its been a long time since I have updated my blog.

Okay,
So uhm since the last post we had a baby and named him Abel Wayne Harline. He is now 4 months old. Last night was a long night for poor Abel he was pretty backed up. Abel had a series of blow outs on me, Rich, the carpet, the rug, towels, clothes and up our arms. Oh course we took pictures on the phone camera during this crisis. We figured we would laugh about it later.

I quit working at Diamond Ranch Academy as a therapist in December about a week before I had Abel. Abel was 3 weeks early. My water broke in the middle of the night when I went to the bathroom for the cazillionth time and took a leap over my dog to the bed. The water breakage was so small and slow I wasnt comletely convinced it was my water. So at 2 am I said outloud, "Uhm" then again a couple minutes later as I felt more leakage. Finally, Rich said, "What!" I said, "I think my water broke," we read part of the book What to Expect When Your Expecting for about an hour. Then, Rich quickly went back to sleep while my mind was racing the rest of the night.
In the morning I told Rich to go to work; while I went to the hospital to find out if my suspicions were correct. I called my dad to go with me so Rich wouldnt take precious time off so he could be with me during the most crucial part of labor.
So 24 hours later and dialated to a ONE! Ready to die, and scream I convinced my Dr. to give me a C-section.
The relaxing breathing was long past relaxing, I was sick and tired of being in labor and everytime I felt a pang I clenched up and complained madly. The spinal relief came about the time I was ready to get my baby out myself and relieve myself from this nightmare.
Abel was 5 lbs and 8 oz and he lost 6 oz in a week. Baby Abel was born to suck, however not on me. I realized by breast pumping I was nearly starving my little one and quickly went to the bottle.
He began to gain weight slowly due to his inability to keep food down. His sphinkter muscle was not fully developed which made him spit-up all he consumed. The Pediatrician recommended putting rice in his formula so it would be thicker and would be more difficult to spit-up.
The last appointment we went to, the Dr. said Abel was finally on the growth chart, so no longer a preemie he is about 12 lbs and 23 in long.
